Mr Luís Jiménez Maruhenda: Allow me to intercede so that your brothers and you allow us to rest our hands on your chests, thus forming a symbolic posture that invokes mutual peace and deep respect. I have ventured, Sir, to disturb your tranquillity by sending you by post these typewritten lines, which encode information about the recent meeting of human brothers organized by you in a setting devoted to UMMO.

 

Accepting a cordial invitation made by you, two of our male brothers travelled from ALBACETE to the building where your brothers had gathered for that event devoted to our civilization. It was not possible for us to request a complimentary pass; you will understand perfectly the very serious commotion and expectation that this would have caused.

 

On the other hand it was not difficult for us to enter the premises, and my brothers mingled with those attending, although they could stay only three hours and forty-two minutes, a sufficient interval to place in the hall small-calibre instruments for capturing information in video and the sound spectrum; we were also able to attach to the epidermis of eleven humans (six women and five men) probes for monitoring psychophysiological parameters. These polytransducers have a minimum volume of 2,4 mm³; they are applied to the skin by means of a viscous compound, do not erode or bother the wearer, and if noticed are easily mistaken for a carbon particle accidentally stuck with mucus. This network and its corresponding central module for receiving, coding and subsequently transmitting data was the only system we used to follow the course of events during the sessions.

 

On Wednesday the second of April, one of my brothers returned to recover part of the equipment used, which for confidential reasons does not have autonomy for remote-controlled aerial travel.

 

We have waited until we had time to analyse the volume of data obtained; in this UWI we also have a scheme that allows me to write to you.

 

Mr Luís Jiménez: Allow me to express to you our great sadness and bitterness, together with the subsequent frustration that this analysis has caused us: sadness and disappointment at verifying once again the harm we have inflicted on you (although, believe me, Sir of Earth, it has never been our intention to distort you so gravely). As if you men of OYAGAA did not already suffer very serious problems of a socioeconomic and political order.

 

While you struggle in anguish amid the death throes of a civilization that is cracking traumatically, a social network that is about to give birth (in a coming dramatic delivery with thanatogenic effects) to a new order of social structures on the planetary scale of Earth.

 

We, with undoubted good faith but with a clumsiness we regret, have created in a small group of humans a new flood of problems: attitudes that generate quarrels between brothers, mutual distrust, dangerous temptations to render worship to our UMMOAAO culture, painful mutual psychological attacks between some brothers which will leave as after-effects a greater increase in the already high gradient of latent and unconscious hatred, dark fears mixed with fallacious illusions. It is surely sad to think that the trigger of this dangerous expansive process is personified by the group made up of my brothers. Do you recall that in paragraphs of earlier reports we alluded to the risks inherent in any interference by an alien-planetary social network in the evolutionary process of another sociohumanoid structure? If on a small scale you have been witnesses of the first disturbances, which like bubbles in a fluid swampy medium burst fetidly, and this despite the prudent doubts and suspicions about our own identity, what would happen if, in an insane gesture, we dared to manifest ourselves openly on an international scale?

 

You must try to understand, Mr Luís, the framework in which these reactions develop. The humans of OYAGAA do not yet possess an adequate corticoencephalic organization that would allow them to find their own identity, accepting their place in society so as to structure it more harmoniously, as other planetary biospheres have done, including ours of UMMO.

 

The heartrending imbalances of that pseudo-social order bring an immense burden of suffering to all of you. We feel overwhelmed and powerless to remedy the enormous volume of pain and mental suffering that your brothers experience, immersed in that semi-chaos.

 

The human of Earth is a genuinely sick being; his complex psychic functions are as anomalous as those produced by a poorly designed machine.

 

You humans know that the behaviour vector is the resultant of a rich range of components, among which the following predominate: genetic coding in polynucleotide chains; information coded in neuronal tissue of the encephalic hemispheres through afferent data throughout life, from its position in the mother's womb; and the processes of elaborating mental models from that stored information; plus the pressure that, at the UWI of making a decision, is exerted by the external physical and social environment, the internal biochemical environment and the physicochemical action of all the anatomical structures on the brain nuclei.

 

That whole set of factors determines certain possible patterns of behaviour, possible but unfortunately for you very few in number; thus your degrees of freedom are very limited. When, by means of transfers of some Krypton atoms, your spiritual entity has to choose between those options, sometimes only one appears possible, giving rise to a genuinely DETERMINIST reaction.

 

The human of OYAGAA sometimes behaves like a robot conditioned by the inflexible pressures of the internal and external environment, his behaviour thus becoming simple reflex reactions; at other times the oemmi has to choose between very vitiated resultants, shaped by defective corticofrontal processes and by the intensely disturbing action of an unharmonious endocrine network. This aspect has a value that you yourselves do not suspect: the importance that this web of biochemical compounds represents for the elaboration of human behaviour has not been brought to light by the embryologists of Earth.

 

We call endocrine network, translating a word of our language, the linked set of flows and local concentrations of all the substances you call hormones, located in the liquid medium of tissue, blood, lymph, cerebrospinal fluid, etc.… of the somatic enclosure.

 

The secretion of a few more picolitres of aldosterone, together with increases of less than a millionth of the preceding rate over time of oxytocin in relation to the previous one, can cause radical polarizations in the decision-making of an individual. The ingestion of a few tenths of a microgram of common salt, as you call sodium chloride (CLNA), causing alterations in the concentrations of certain mineralocorticoids, can profoundly modify the subsequent behaviour of the individual.

 

But many decades must pass before you find a diet scientifically suited to your psychological needs, and much more time still before new modifications in your hormonal secretory Network create the bases for an emotional-endocrine balance better adjusted to the needs of the Oemmi.

 

Today that biochemical network is still crude, the glial and neural functions poorly specified, and the transfer of data through afferent pathways takes place with a high margin of error and a low signal-to-noise ratio.

 

For all these preceding reasons, the adoption of intelligent decisions is bound to a high degree to the endocrine emotional (aura). Savage triggerings of biochemical mechanisms that became engrammed in your brain at times when your ancestors were still animals and had to defend themselves against a hostile environment interfere with other, much better elaborated information processes that follow statistical patterns arising in networks of neoplastic cortex. Those engrammed mechanisms have been inherited by you and will not disappear except through the action of new mutations directed by precise laws of an orthogenic character.

 

The result translates into serious consequences for your relational lives: psychotic and neurotic features which, latent in all of you, cast very serious and dark shadows over the social network of OYAGAA, accumulating unbearable charges of collective anguish and anxiety, and leading to a situation where a few nodes of that network -sick and psychopathic beings such as a Stalin, a Hitler, a Franco, a Reza Pahlevi, a Khomeini or a Carter, to take as examples brothers of yours from recent history- who occupy dangerous key positions in that network, can cause terrible social imbalances of unforeseeable consequences.

 

No, do not think that it is possible to predict, even with our means of computerizing data, certain social and economic processes of the future, precisely because of the random incidence of the savage endocrine reactions of some important elements of the social network. In those conditions of exalted collective anxiety (beneath which one can observe how an imperious desire for salvation beats), any tiny glimmer of light, such as the mirage that some “alien-terrestrial” brothers from the cosmos might come to Earth in order to save and redeem you, is bound to give rise to dangerous ideational patterns (dangerous because fallacious and delirious), which in turn will turn into emotional (that is, endocrine) disturbances with fatal consequences for the slow process of hominid evolution.

 

We wish, Mr Luis Jiménez, that you, an expert in the communication media in which you work, should also be aware of the immense danger involved in injecting into the mental process of your brothers false hopes about us humans of UMMO, or about other civilizations that are exploring you at this time, which, being governed by highly intellectualized patterns, are not expected to alter the painful evolutionary flow of the society of OYAGAA.

 

We, perhaps with less maturity than they, began a timid stance of approach to you, and how much harm we did you! Now we repent and are preparing to withdraw, without abruptness but firmly.

 

We are uneasy and worried; we believed that by offering you false trails that would discredit the genuine version of our stay on Earth it would be enough for your logical patterns of reasoning to come into play and reject such a belief. Oversights of ours in offering you other proofs, and the cunning and effective intuitions of other brothers of yours, have caused a persistence in the acceptance of our true identity.

 

Understand, humans of Spain, our powerlessness; we cannot, in correct deontological line, forbid you to circulate our reports, which are now naturally the property of your brothers; you alone are responsible for your conduct, nor does that circulation any longer represent any danger for us as it once did; it is not, therefore, a selfish pattern of self-defence that impels us to urge prudence on you. In the Castilian-speaking context you use an expression, “for the love of God”, and we dare to invoke it respectfully: “for the love of God”, ”for the love of your brothers”: FORGET US!

 

Make no more publicity of our existence; there already exists among the humans of OYAGAA a chaotic confusion of religions and philosophical schools without a new cult of UMMO -inoperative and almost sterile for you, since it cannot easily be grafted today onto your bioworld- clouding even further the difficult birth you are about to suffer.

 

We will remain on this cold star, watching expectantly that cataclysm (the emergence of a new social network). Our mission is no other, and we will not interfere in the process in any way.

The gathering freely organized by your brothers and you in the town of ALICANTE has been very valuable for us, allowing us to detect the psychophysiological reactions of the Oemmi of Earth with reference to the field of UMMAAO knowledge accumulated by you.

 

The analysis of the subsequent sociopsychic phenomenon has alarmed and worried us exceedingly; we are not, naturally, Mr Luis, exaggerating; we are nobly trying to make you see it without arrogating to ourselves a paternalistic pattern towards you, Sir. Perhaps you would like a line of reasoning to back up our cry of alarm; understand that we cannot reveal to you the whole complex fabric of the study carried out.

 

If you are convinced that our identity is genuine, it will be prudent to give us your vote of confidence by accepting our exhortation: to reduce as far as possible all circulation of our reports in order to abort a dangerous social process. If you do not believe in us and accept the thesis, also intelligent, that our identity is fraudulent, the reason for preventing that circulation of false information is even more powerful.

 

Unfortunately we made many mistakes in the past: some brothers of yours received technical information that has allowed them to develop patents, and they were able to see devices of ours of advanced technology that made evident to them the authentic nature of my brothers. Others received information proving our knowledge of secret decisions of the top leaders of Earth. For many of those people, some of whom have kept a prudent anonymity owing to their social status, the certainty that we come from an alien-terrestrial environment is very high, and unfortunately this can no longer be remedied; but at least try now not to spread that dangerous certainty, and let other strata of the population think that all this is a fleeting fantasy.

 

Sir: We listened to some talks by brothers of yours at that congress, some of an excellent level; our attention was drawn especially to the thesis held by your brother José Antonio Corno, although we were saddened by the opinion he holds about us. Tell him, Mr Luís Jiménez, that if we could meet him personally and placed our hand on his noble chest, he would understand our culture better and would surely dispel his suspicions.

 

We consider the Nazism that devastated the noble lands of Germania a horrific aberration of the human mind of OYAGAA, and we share, although he may not believe it, his repudiation of every form of cruel totalitarianism (which our civilization once knew).

 

Your brother Corno is a sensitive and kind human, prudent and misunderstood; since only a deformed fraction of our culture has reached him, his reserve is understandable and intelligent; we would like to offer him our true image.

 

We also feel sad at his opinions about that alleged aggressive intention: let him understand that, if it were real, our strategy would be underhand. But with this your brother reveals his gifts as a cautious Oemmi; naturally we do not see how to convince him of the purity of our intentions, but on the other hand he has offered us an opportunity to make use of his particular ideological points; used skilfully, they could serve you to demythologize us. I believe it is lawful to resort to a distortion of the truth in order to achieve a praxis infinitely more beneficial than the harm caused by the corruption of a body of authentic data.

 

On the other hand your brother Corno is right: we have harmed you, but for the reasons given in the preceding text, not for those he thinks.

 

Sir, my apologies for the cumbersome length of this document; we were impressed by your noble temperament, respectful of the opinions of your brothers, your accommodating disposition, your exquisite delicacy in smoothing over differences and achieving peace and harmony among your brothers, your sincere idealism and your mental openness free of inhibitions.

 

Allow me to express to you my sincere respect and admiration, and allow me to extend it to your excellent wife and to your loved ones; convey our respects to your brother Ricardo López Gómez; it is not prudent to go on at greater length repeating our greetings to the long list of your brothers we have mentioned in previous letters; convey our greeting to them, but extend it also to your brothers interested in us who, while accepting our existence with various degrees of credence, deserve special remembrance.
